What this means in practice:

• An 80 kg Euro-pallet and a 700 kg Euro-pallet have the same base price — the pallet type matters, not the weight. On longer routes, this rule is particularly advantageous for heavy loads.
• The recipient's postal code determines the zone — delivery to the industrial north, such as Porto, Braga, or Aveiro, may cost differently than delivery to Lisbon or the Algarve in the south.
• Shipping to or from a residential address incurs a one-time surcharge (it does not double if both addresses are residential).
• Shipment insurance is optional and paid — you can cover goods up to 19,999 PLN.
• A vehicle with a tail lift is included in the service and is ordered automatically, without the need for a special request.

Step by step:

1. Get a quote — enter the pallet type (half-pallet, Euro-pallet, industrial pallet) and the recipient's postal code in Portugal. The price depends on the pallet type, not its weight.
2. Order the shipment — placing the order automatically schedules the courier pickup. There is no separate "order a courier" step.
3. Prepare the pallet — wrap the goods in stretch film, secure them with straps, and ensure nothing protrudes beyond the pallet's edge. You must provide the pallet yourself; the courier does not bring one.
4. Attach the shipping label to the outside of the shipment and hand the pallet over to the DHL Freight courier.

What you should know before shipping:

• Provide the full postal code in the "1234-567" format. Portuguese postal codes consist of four digits, a hyphen, and three digits. Shortening them to just four digits significantly complicates delivery.
• A vehicle with a tail lift is ordered automatically — you do not need to request this or select anything extra in the form. A loading ramp at the sender's location is not required.
• Pickup or delivery at a private address incurs a one-time surcharge.
• Insurance for goods up to 19,999 PLN is optional — this service does not include free insurance. For long-distance shipments, it is worth considering carefully.
• Shipment redirection is possible at any stage of transport, but only within Portugal and subject to an individual quote. You cannot redirect a pallet from Portugal to Spain, even though the route passes through it.

You can ship a half-pallet (80 × 60 cm), a Euro-pallet (120 × 80 cm), or an industrial pallet (120 × 100 cm) to Portugal, with a maximum weight of 750 kg and a maximum height of 210 cm, including the pallet itself. A single order can include multiple pallets of the same type.

Available pallet types and quantity limits per shipment:

• Half-pallet — 80 × 60 cm — maximum 5 units per shipment.
• Euro-pallet (EPAL) — 120 × 80 cm — maximum 5 units per shipment.
• Industrial pallet — 120 × 100 cm — maximum 4 units per shipment.

Other rules:

• Maximum weight per pallet, including the pallet: 750 kg. Maximum height: 210 cm.
• Maximum actual weight of the entire multi-pallet shipment: 2500 kg.
• You cannot mix different types of pallets in a single order — all pallets in a shipment must be of the same type.
• Goods must not overhang or extend beyond the pallet edges — overhanging cartons lose more than 30% of their structural strength.
• The top surface of the shipment must be flat; stacking items in a pyramid shape risks damage and delays.
• The pallet must be wrapped in stretch film and secured with straps; attach the shipping label to the outside, never inside the load.
• The courier does not provide pallets; the sender must supply them independently.

Shipments packed inconsistently with these guidelines may be repriced by the carrier according to the Road Freight Standard offer. Portugal is the longest route in our offer, and the pallet undergoes more transshipments than on neighboring routes—securing the load carefully is more critical here than on any of the other twenty routes.

No. Portugal is a member of the European Union, so a pallet sent from Poland is not subject to customs clearance or duties — goods move freely within the EU single market. You do not need to prepare a customs declaration, export declaration, or pay customs duties. The route passes through Germany, France, and Spain, but since all these countries are in the EU, there are no external borders or transit procedures on any part of the journey.

Documents worth preparing when shipping to Portugal:

• Shipping label — generated in the Furgonetka.pl panel and attached to the pallet before the courier arrives.
• Commercial invoice — included with the goods for B2B transactions; also useful in the event of a claim.
• Recipient's EU VAT number — the Portuguese NIF or NIPC with the PT prefix, if you are settling the transaction as an intra-Community supply of goods (ICS) at a 0% rate.
• Proof of delivery — for ICS, tax authorities may require proof that the goods have reached Portugal.
